Kierra's Review of Panera Bread's Asiago Beagle Stack Sandwich

You ever find yourself just scrolling through your phone with no real direction? Yeah, that was me the other day. I was mindlessly doom-scrolling, when my grandmother suddenly walked in and said, “Kierra, you’ve got to get something for me.”

I looked up, a bit confused. “Uh, okay, what’s up?”

She grinned, clearly excited. “Panera came out with a new sandwich, and I want to try it. It’s a limited-edition one, and I don’t know how long they’ll have it, so you’ve gotta get it for me!”

I blinked a couple of times, still not sure what I was walking into. “Alright,” I said, “Next time I go to Panera, I’ll grab you your sandwich.”

Fast forward to me sitting in the drive-thru, ordering this new Chicken Asiago Sandwich for her. And honestly, I figured, why not make the most of the situation? So I grabbed their equally limited-edition potato soup to go with it (don’t judge me, okay?).

When I got home, I handed my grandmother her meal. Now, if you know her, you know she’s a bit picky when it comes to food (especially with her stomach issues). But this? She dug right in without hesitation.

“So, how is it?” I asked, already getting curious.

Her face lit up. “BOOOOYYYY, this is GOOD! I ate it all, and the soup—let me tell you—delicious! I loved it with the bread.”

At that point, I had to admit something to myself. “Okay, I’m not going to lie… it smelled really good when I ordered it. I might have to try one next time.”

Fast forward to the next time I found myself at Panera, and let me just say—BOOOOYYYY, was she right! That sandwich? It’s a game-changer.

Now, listen, I’m usually the first one to roll my eyes at limited-edition food items. I know the marketing game too well, and my stubborn side is always like, “Nope, not falling for it.” (Unless it's Pokémon-related, of course—then just take my money.)

But my grandmother’s reaction was legit, and I couldn’t ignore it. She’s not the type to overhype stuff, and when she really likes something, she really likes it (I guess that’s good for my wallet, right?).

The Chicken Asiago Sandwich at Panera is, hands down, one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time. Honestly, it's pretty much the only reason I even go there now.

The Gist of it

Let me break it down for you.

The moment you bite into that sandwich, you get this amazing crispy crust of bagel bread (not the ciabatta—you know the difference). Then, there’s the rich asiago cheese, the creamy sauce, juicy tomatoes, perfectly seasoned chicken, smooth avocado sauce, and fresh leafy greens. Each bite feels like a symphony of flavors.

And don’t even get me started on the potato soup. It’s loaded with real bacon (none of that sad, fake bacon bits nonsense) and topped with parmesan. This combo? Pure magic.

I’ll admit, I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money on this pairing, but honestly, I have zero regrets. If you’re near a Panera, do yourself a solid and try it. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
